Welcome to Azomalli Therapy and Growth Center

At Azomalli Therapy and Growth Center LLC, we believe in the importance of providing emotional support that honors your language, culture, and story. We offer bilingual and culturally sensitive mental health services designed for adults, couples, and youth. Our approach is rooted in empathy, respect, and trust to help you achieve your personal and emotional goals.

What does Azomalli mean and why did we choose this name?

Azomalli is a word of Nahuatl origin, the language spoken by the Aztecs. Its direct translation is "peace" or "calm," and it is often used in contexts related to well-being, relaxation, and a state of mental tranquility.

We chose this name for our practice because it represents the essence of what we aim to offer: a space where you can find serenity, balance, and a deep connection with yourself. Azomalli captures our vision of promoting holistic well-being and a healthy mind, guiding our clients toward a fuller, more harmonious life.

About Me.

Dalia Medina Bustillos, MA, LCSW

Originally from Mexico City, I’ve made Albuquerque my home for over 25 years. I hold a Master’s degree in Social Work with a clinical concentration in bilingual and bicultural issues, and I’ve worked in the mental health field for over 16 years. My professional background includes roles in medical social work, Multi-Systemic Therapy (MST), suicide prevention, and CCSS coordination—experiences that inform my multidisciplinary, collaborative, and systems-aware approach to therapy.

I provide bilingual (English/Spanish) therapy for adolescents, adults, and families, with a focus on relational connection, trauma-informed care, and cultural responsiveness. I am especially passionate about supporting immigrant communities, and my practice is rooted in honoring each individual’s life story, including the complexities of migration, identity, and belonging. I work with a wide range of clients navigating intergenerational, identity-based, and systemic challenges, always centering their resilience and capacity for healing.

Therapy Services

“I know I’m strong… but lately, even the smallest things feel too heavy.”
Maybe you’ve had this thought too. I know I have.

There are times when we carry so much—expectations, responsibilities, generational stories—that it becomes hard to breathe, let alone ask for help. You don’t have to carry it all alone.

Therapy offers a space to set some of that weight down. Together, we’ll explore what’s been building up—your thoughts, emotions, and relationships—with compassion and without judgment. All parts of you are welcome here: your fears, your hopes, your voice.

I work with individuals, youth, couples, and families navigating anxiety, life transitions, intergenerational trauma, and complex family dynamics. I specialize in supporting young adults, parents, and first-generation professionals who are seeking balance, belonging, or simply a moment to exhale.

My therapeutic approach is rooted in honoring resilience and lived experience. I integrate a variety of evidence-based and experiential modalities, always within a strength-based and culturally responsive framework. Some of the approaches I use include:

  • Brainspotting – a brain-body approach that helps release unprocessed experiences stored in the nervous system, offering relief from stress, trauma, and emotional blocks.

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) – strategies to notice and shift unhelpful thought and behavior patterns while building coping skills and resilience.

  • Solution-Focused Therapy – a strengths-based approach that highlights what’s already working and helps move toward meaningful goals.

  • Mindfulness-Based Approaches – practices that cultivate presence, self-awareness, and self-compassion, while reducing stress and overwhelm.

  • Psychoeducation – learning more about mental health, emotions, and coping tools to feel more informed and empowered.

  • Psychoanalytic Approach – exploring deeper patterns, past experiences, and relationships to understand how they shape your present life, creating space for lasting change.

  • Community-Based Support (CCSS) – support that takes place in real-life settings, such as at home or in the community, to strengthen confidence and independence.

Therapy is offered via telehealth, in both English and Spanish, making support accessible wherever you are. If you’re ready to begin—or continue—your healing journey, it would be my honor to walk alongside you.
